Mirror Mirror...

Wendy Griffin, UK 1996, 11 minutes

In the first of our selection of short films by local filmmakers, the Film Society presents Wendy Griffin's "Mirror Mirror...". An insight into what goes on in the ladies loos of a nightclub as seen by the mirror on the wall. Shot from the same vantage point, it is a series of non-narrative sound bites, snatches of conversation, snatches of lives. "Mirror Mirror..." has toured many film festivals in Britain and internationally, and the Film Society is pleased to be able to give a screening here in Edinburgh.

Wendy Griffin

Writer/Director of "Mirror Mirror...", Wendy worked in a film co-operative in London before moving to Edinburgh to study for an MSc in Film at Napier. As well as being Writer/Director of several short films, Wendy has produced shorts and Morag McKinnon's feature film "Three". Currently, Wendy is developing a short film for application to the "Prime Cuts" scheme.

Programme note for screening on 28th November 1996
