Snowie And The Seven Dorps

Candy Kugel, USA 1990, 8 minutes

A retelling of the old fairy-tale transforming the well-known classic into a passive/aggressive fable for the nineties. Made in neon colours on black, this clever animation satirises the movie business located in Hollywood where our heroine Snowie runs into theatrical agents Sorry, Creepy, Geeky, Later, Wimpy, Sleazy and I'll Call Ya!

Looking at the seedy underbelly of the biz in the city of the angels, this short displays a very warped sense of humour. Only the eponymous heroine appears to be pure of heart and mind but of course, in Hollywood, this is never the case.

Outstanding, impressive and a refreshing antidote to the sweetness of Disney.
