Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the WereRabbit

Steve Box and Nick Park, UK, 2005, 85 minutes

Summer is drawing to a close and in West Wallaby Street the inhabitants are getting ready for their annual Giant Vegetable Competition. Yet to the dismay of residents rabbits are attempting to spoil their crops, but never fear, Anti-Pesto are here?

Wallace and Gromit have taken the chance to form a pest control company and in the final few weeks before the competition are busy guarding everyone's fruit and veg against the fluffy menace. However they are too soft-hearted to kill the rabbits and their home is quickly becoming overrun. Wallace attempts to alter one rabbit's brainwaves so that it no longer lusts after veg, yet the next day before he can check on the creature is called to Lady Tottington's manor (voiced by Helena Bonham Carter) to deal with her ... rather larger rabbit problem.

But with the rising of the full moon something strange is happening and something wicked this way is hopping. Can Wallace and Gromit manage to save the day in time, or will someone else beat them to it?

Wallace and Gromit successfully make the leap from their smaller adventures to this full-length feature film. Those already in love with the cheese-loving duo will love this longer exploit, lovers of small fuzzy creatures will adore the rabbits and the talented vocal cast adds another dimension to this unusual duo. Packed with humour, few holds are barred and it will appeal to most. So if you're after thrilling chases, a dash of romance, small adorable animals and a bit of cheese (literally!), then this is your film.
